"Mr Mon Stear has received a free room key card to stay a night at the grand attraction, The Highway Hotel. Upon arrival to the seemingly deserted building he finds his room but is thoroughly disappointed, so he decides to explore the rest of the hotel. Little does he know that the hotel is hiding a very terrible secret."

Highway Hotel was a student group project during my studies which I was the storyboard lead and an animator for. Highway Hotel was at first an experiment in two things: (1) Combining multiple mediums of animation and (2) Seeing what creativity could come if each member of the animation team created their own room for the hotel.

Due to it's specific nature, the original animatic for Highway Hotel has somewhat of a 'Frankenstein's monster' feel to it as the individual sections for some rooms where created by those animators themselves. The original story itself had almost been written to fit around this experiment.) I created the opening and ending scenes for this early storyboard, as well as the connecting scenes as the character travels between rooms. The animatic I put together out of these boards was later reworked into the final storyboard with a stronger narrative.
